Outreach Opportunities — Spring 2012
Claremont Middle School
Help establish relationships with the children at Claremont Middle School in order to enhance their academic success, through tutoring, helping with their homework, or being there at lunchtime monitoring the distribution of sports equipment. Once a week, 30 – 60 min. Training will be provided.
Elizabeth House
Spend time with the families at Oakland Elizabeth House, a house for single mothers and their children. Help with workday projects as a group, or have fun playing with their kids and give their moms a break. Training will be provided.
Servant Evangelism
Do something nice for our community and have fun doing it! Small acts of service with a smile, and a business card invitation to join us on a Sunday. Examples include a windshield wash, a water bottle give away on a hot day in Willard Park or on campus.
General Questions? Talk to Pastor Neil.

Scour your closets and pull out those clothes and accessories that you just don’t wear anymore (but are still wearable!

Service Opportunities Spring 2012
Greeting – Greeters are the first to welcome people on Sunday morning — a great ministry for those who are new to New Church because you know what it feels like to be new here!
Worship Band – If you play an instrument, or sing, we’d love to have you use your gifts in Worship Ministry.
NCKids! – It takes a village to raise a child at New Church – teachers, aides, song leaders, and helpers for set up and take down. Lesson materials are provided for teachers, as well as training, so don’t be shy to try this fun opportunity to serve!
Media Ministry – Create short (1 min) slideshow videos to use in the service on Sunday. These videos help communicate what is happening at New Church, for the rest of the church to enjoy.
Sound Tech – Help make our worship service run smoothly by taking care of the audio/visual and sound board. Training will be provided.
Barista – A cup of hot coffee can go a long way to making someone feel welcome at New Church. The only requirement for this ministry is that you drink coffee
We’ll show you how to make it!
Social Media – Post fresh pictures to our Facebook page. With many people finding us on the Web, Social Media is one way we can make new people feel part of the New Church community.
Admin Assistance – Have some free time on Tuesdays or Fridays (1-2 hrs)? We’d love to have your help in the church office!
