Our mission is to be an authentic community of believers in Jesus, clearly acting out in the community near the Berkeley campus what it means to be Jesus' disciples, and extending His love and acceptance to all who are open to knowing Him, without requiring people to adopt traditional religious culture. To provide clear, careful teaching about Jesus from the gospels and the Christian Scriptures, and to provide opportunities for worship where people without a church background are able to open their hearts to Christ and worship Him. To provide opportunities for growth and maturity in following Jesus, and to work both together and individually to extend His love and goodness to people who need His care.
Three priorities:
"The first great commandment is, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind.' And the second commandment is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these hang all the law and the prophets."
* JesusTo express this love in times of worship, when the whole community comes together, and where we invoke His presence with us. With music and other vehicles that are accessible and contemporary, which help people make contact with God and give adoration and receive blessing directly from Him. Also, to act out this love in taking seriously the commandments of Jesus.

* JesusTo express this love in genuine community, spending time together in small groups, where the goal is to build one another up through sharing, support, study, service, and worship. To share meals together, and to act out the commands of Jesus regarding loving one another, forgiving one another, and caring for one another in ways that are authentic.

Breaking down walls that divide and bringing healing and wholeness on the spiritual as well as the material level. Banding together in small groups, and with other groups and churches in the area, united by a sense of calling and interest to be channels of the blessing and ministry of Jesus Himself throughout the community.
